## Webinars On Demand

#### The New Rules of Social Media: Understanding Meta’s Landmark Teen Safety Settlement *What School Staff Need to Know About the New Protections for Users Under 18*

In August 2026, Meta reached a proposed multistate settlement addressing concerns related to the impact of Facebook and Instagram on our youth. This landmark settlement impacts how youth under 18 access and engage with these platforms, creating new considerations for schools, families, and those supporting students, their safety, and well-being.

Viewers will consider how these changes may affect school safety, digital behavior, and Digital Threat Assessment® practices, as well as how schools and families can remain informed as implementation develops.

#### “Cat in the Hat” Concerning Viral Digital Safety Concern

#### *Threat alert*

In response to the rapidly emerging "Cat in the Hat” social media trend, Safer Schools Together has continued to monitor and assess this development. We recently hosted a brief, timely, complimentary Webinar - now available on demand!

We will provide School Safety/Threat Assessment professionals with the latest information on how this trend is presenting online, including tools for assessing AI-generated content, anonymous accounts, targeted posts, and other worrisome behaviors, while examining the potential impacts on schools and communities.

Participants will leave with practical guidance for assessing credibility, coordinating with law enforcement, managing communications, and responding appropriately while reinforcing the importance of reporting, not reposting, non-credible threats.
